I fell in love with another special-people! In this long and beatiful interview Richard Avedon expresses himself. You can notice he found something that really turned he on! He discovered photography when a child and became very good at doing it! Coming from a "fashion oriented family" with a father owning a small women's clothing store on Fifth Avenue confirms things doesn't usually happen perchance!

2 mostre a Milano

Milano. Okay well for sure it's not California, alright. But it really offers a lot! I don't know Milano in all its aspects but I am enjoying it!

Last Wednesady I took off from work around 6pm. Picked up my cameraa and moved by Metro toward Piazza Duomo. There, at Palazzo Reale, I visited two of its exhibitions. The first one was Canova alla Corte degli Zar. Seven sculptures of the Italian artist Antonio Canova directly from the Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg.

Peter Greenway was launching its interpretation of The Last Supper: an audio-video installation to make his own reproduction of the masterpiece become alive. Very cool!

una mostra originale: la nostra

Yesterday Paolo and I launched our second photo exhibition "Brasil meets Giulio Monteverde" at the Gispoteca Giulio Monteverde in Bistagno, somewhere near Alessandria. Wikipedia knows!

It went actually quite well even if it definetely wants to be an experiment on sculpture-photo dialogue. The public appreciated. We were proud and happy hoping to continue on this path.

Mi sono finalmente deciso a scrivere qualcosa! E lo faccio perchè penso che l'argomento sia importante seppur straconosciuto.
Secondo quanto leggo da più fonti, l'ultima pubblicazione dell'OECD - che sinceramente devo trovare il tempo di leggere con più accuratezza - mostra attraverso oltre 100 indicatori economici e sociali l'arretratezza dell'Italia sotto molti aspetti (come scrive anche Gianluca Salvatori sul blog di Nova 24 nell'articolo Confronti. 1981-2008 ). Siamo nati (parlo dei ragazzi che hanno attorno ai 25-30 anni) ed eravamo (quasi) al passo con i migliri; ora teniamo a fatica il ritmo dei peggiori. Non analizzo le cause ma evidenzio un altro problema. Dell'arretratezza italiana non se ne parla se non in rete, sui giornali e in qualche trasmissione televisiva. E voi direte, beh, come se ne dovrebbe parlare se non attraverso i principali mezzi di comunicazione?? Io so che ci si lamenta spessso (e certo, siamo italiani, maestri nel farlo! forse io stesso lo sto facendo) e non si muove una virgola per cercare di cambiare le cose, portare cambiamento e aria fresca. Tutti o quasi lo chiediamoe nessuno fa niente. I problemi sono radicali da diversi anni e non intravedo nessuna prospettiva reale se non quella di rivoluzionare la nostra mentalità. Come? Con la rivoluzione!
Continueremo davvero ad usare la corsia di emergenza facendo finta che sia normale?
